Obviously, different poker books the ones designed to best blackjack you improve your game are targeted towards different people in different situations.
They range from books targeted at complete beginners, all the way through to expert-level books that very specifically best poker book for cash games the particular techniques that are important at the top-level of one particular form of poker.
Obviously, in each category, some books are probably better at achieving their objectives than other - but it can be fairly meaningless to compare books from different categories - since they are each intended for a different function.
read more of the big problems with poker books is that many people start out by reading the wrong ones.
So many people, who really want to know how to win more often in a social game, pick up a book by a celebrity poker player - a book, which, more often than not, is about the techniques that can be used to win The World Series of Poker, or which is in some other way related to the strategies top players use against other top players.
There are two main problems with this.
One of these is that the tactics that might work best against top players and the tactics that might work best against your work colleagues in your weekly social game, are often two very different things.
Some top-level tactics might even lose you money in a game of rank amateurs.
The far bigger problem, however, is that many poker players who read about advanced techniques, have often failed to properly appreciate some of the much more basic principles of the game.
They end up thinking they understand poker, when they don't.
Their advanced tactics are based upon some pretty shaky foundations.
What they really need is a book that encourages them to better understand the fundamental principles of the game.
When you're an experienced student of the game and you turn up for a bit of fun for best poker book for cash games amateur game or for a tournament in a small town casino, there are often numerous players who've played a bit of poker and read the most well-known books by Brunson or Harrington.
Frankly, a lot of the time, it's like taking candy from a baby.
Their biggest weakness is not best poker book for cash games they don't know how to play poker.
Their biggest weakness is that they think they do.

For the first time ever I am re-releasing my hugely popular "Massive Profits at the Micros" free poker strategy book.
This is the free poker strategy guide read by over 100k people now that outlines the exact poker strategies I used to create the highest winnings in online poker history at the micros.
Never before has somebody with real proven results at the poker table created a step by step guide to get you winning at the low stakes tables, and it is totally free.
Massive Profit at the Micros is the only free poker book available on the internet today that was actually written by a real poker pro with real proven results at the tables.
My name is Nathan "BlackRain79" Williams and I have been an I am best known for having some of the highest winnings in online poker history at the lower stakes.
I have also written 3 best selling poker books on how to crush these games.
Now, I get a lot of emails and comments from poker beginners perhaps just like you who are having a hard time figuring out how to win at the poker tables.
So that is why I decided to write a free poker book to help you finally start learning how to win consistently at the lower stakes.
I have had a lot of success of these stakes and so it is my way of giving back.
I also know that a lot of low stakes players are on a small bankroll with limited funds to invest in expensive poker training.
So unlike most other high priced poker training out there I decided to simply give this poker strategy guide away for free.
My free poker book teaches you step by step how to start consistently crushing low limit poker games whether you play online, live, cash games, tournaments or Zoom.
Read it, study it and finally start winning big in small stakes poker games.
It is that simple.
If you would like to receive a copy of my hugely popular free poker book Massive Profit at the Micros, just enter your name below and tell me what email address to send it to.
Well, I teach you step by step how to start playing a solid TAG tight and aggressive poker strategy to crush 2020 low stakes poker games.
And it doesn't matter if you play online or in the casino.
The strategies in this free poker book work perfectly well for both.
For example, these are what hands you should play in 6max games those marked in yellow : I also show you step by step how I study my own poker game in order to fix my leaks.
And how I study my opponents to create the new strategies to consistently beat them.
It doesn't matter if you play https://pink-stuf.com/best/best-way-to-play-texas-holdem-poker.html, online, tournaments, cash games or Zoom, Massive Profit at the Micros is the 1 free poker book that will get you winning big quickly.
Now, people ask me all the time why I give away all this information for free.
In fact a few people have even begged me to stop doing this.
And I agree, it is kind of crazy.
I could easily sell this free poker book for a lot of money.
It has helped over 100k people improve their poker winnings now.
But I really wanted to do something different than every other so called "poker coach" out there.
I simply do not believe that all poker training needs to be ridiculously expensive!
So this is why I set out to create the best free poker guide in the world and then just give it away to poker beginners like you, completely for free.
I also wanted to give you the real proven strategies that I have personally used to create some of the highest winnings in online poker history at the micro stakes.
I have made a lot of money in these games over the years and so this is also my way of giving back.
Fair warning, I can't promise that it is going to remain free forever : Free Poker Book Sample Chapter Advanced Flop Strategy What follows below is a sample chapter from my free poker guide showing you how to play a solid TAG tight and aggressive best free slot machine games to play strategy after the flop.
And what I mean by that specifically is the flop, turn and river.
How do you crush your opponents on these streets in small stakes games?
You are about to learn how!
The flop, turn and river is where the best players really excel and separate themselves from everybody else.
So it is important that you have a solid strategy.
Once again, I would suggest using check this out similar TAG style of play after the flop as well.
So once again what does this actually mean in practice though?
The Flop If you this web page the preflop advice given above, then you should have the betting lead a lot of the time when you see a flop.
I would suggest making a continuation bet CBet most of the time as well.
Note: Make sure that you tone it down if you are up against multiple opponents on the flop because the chances of somebody having a good hand go way up.
Therefore, it will be much more difficult to take down the pot.
You should typically have some sort of decent made hand when you decide to make a CBet in this situation top pair or good draw.
What Hands Should You Make a Continuation Bet With?
So let's discuss what hands you should make a continuation bet with.
Against a single opponent you should make a CBet if you connect with the board in any way.
This means any pair and any draw.
Ok, so now that you know what hands to make a flop CBet with most of themlet's discuss the more important part, which ones NOT to make a CBet with.
Many of them like to call a lot.
This is why it is not wise to run big time bluffs at these stakes.
If you like I discuss later on in this free poker book, then you can simply look for players with a WTSD% of 30 or more.
This is a calling station a player who likes to call a lot with bad hands.
These are the kinds of players who you do not want to bluff.
This is why often when you are OOP versus a calling station and you have nothing at all, it is better to not even waste a flop CBet on them!
Your opponent especially if they are loose could have so many different straight and flush draws, pairs, two pairs and pair + draw hands on these flops.
I know it might sound "weak.
Sometimes simply cutting your losses and giving up is in fact the most profitable decision in the long run.
Raising the Flop What about if you are the preflop caller though?
Most of the time you can probably expect to face a CBet.
So you can either raise, call or fold.
If you happen to have a very strong hand top pair top kicker or better then I would suggest almost always raising the flop at these limits.
Remember how I said that many players at these limits are passive and like to call a lot?
Well this is exactly why it is a bad idea to slow-play when you have a big hand.
By the way, my strategy is completely different against good aggressive poker players.
Watch this video I made about advanced flop strategy versus good winning poker players.
However, versus a bad poker player you have to build the pot for them at these stakes by betting and raising.
This is a huge hangup that some people have.
You should also learn to start raising your good draws from time to time against the regulars who Click here the flop way too much.
A lot of the time they will have very little and you can take it down without even having to improve your hand.
For example: An aggressive regular raises preflop from early position in a 6max Zoom game online.
This is a spot where you should often be RAISING.
You have a huge draw with two over-cards and the nut flush draw as well.
Sure, you could just call and hope to hit your draw here like most people would.
But by raising you give yourself another way to win the pot, making your opponent fold right now.
This is the play that most winning poker players will make.
Because winning poker is all about giving yourself the most ways to win the pot.
Flat Calling the Flop However, as you probably know by now, making a big hand in poker is hard.
Really hard in fact.
The large majority of the time after the flop you will have a weak pair or a draw at best.
Often you will have nothing at all.
So what should you do then?
And this includes hands like bottom pair and very weak draws like a gutshot straight draw as well.
One of the biggest keys to success at the lower end of the micros in particular is avoiding FPS fancy play syndrome.
If you have nothing, just fold!
I hope you enjoyed that sample chapter from my free poker book.
Massive Profit at the Micros is basically your free "poker cheat sheet" to start crushing low stakes poker games online or in the casino in 2020.
Read it, study it and start winning.
It is that simple.
You can get your copy of my free poker book Free Poker Guide Sample Chapter How to Manage Your Bankroll Like the Pros Here is another sample chapter from my free poker book where I discuss bankroll management and how to move up the stakes rapidly in 2020 small stakes poker games.
Poker Bankroll Management Having the right strategy at the poker tables is extremely important but there are several other factors that go into creating massive profits as well.
Bankroll management is one of remarkable, slotter pop ziggy was most important of these.
Your poker "bankroll" by the way is just a term for the money you have set aside to play poker.
Now look, in the long run poker is a game of pure skill.
The cream always rises to the top eventually.
However poker is also a game that comes with plenty of ups and downs luck in the short run.
And it doesn't matter how "good" you are.
Nobody is above these swings.
And I don't care if your name is Daniel Negreanu.
He loses at poker sometimes too.
Sometimes you can do absolutely everything right but still lose even against really bad poker players.
It is important to understand that this is actually a good thing though yes really.
The reason why bad poker players keep depositing money and funding the entire industry is because sometimes they get lucky and win.
You see, if poker were a game like chess where there is no luck in the short run, then they would get sick of losing and either quit the game or get better.
Poker would then cease to be profitable.
However the beautiful thing about poker is that there is a large element of luck in the short run.
This allows bad poker players to win just often enough to sustain their interest in the game.
So once again, what does this actually mean in practice?
And more is always better.
This is also 100 big blinds.
I know this might seem like a lot to you right now, but trust me, poker can be a brutal game sometimes in the short run.
Variance can get crazy.
Therefore, it is extremely important to be properly bankrolled for the games you are playing in.
In fact, here are my bankroll recommendations for all micro stakes cash games online.
You should look to move up to the next stake every 2 months or so.
In other words, "quit your job money" for some people.
Or least a solid significant side income from poker for most.
These are the stakes where poker also starts to get really fun because the amount of money you can make can have a real impact on your life.
As an online poker pro my "office" is literally anywhere on earth I should mention that the number of poker tables you choose to play does not really affect anything here in a major way.
People ask me about this a lot.
And the reason why is because variance in poker remains the same no matter what the table count is.
This is assuming best poker book for cash games your level of play and decision making remain the same.
If you are a crazy mass multi-tabler like I used to be playing 20 or 30 tables at a time, then the quality of your play certainly may suffer though and therefore you might want to have more bullets in your bankroll.
But I should also mention that many people prefer to have 40, 50 or even more buyins for the limit that they are playing anyways.
I think this a good thing especially if you are currently struggling to win.
The lower your winrate the higher your variance will be.
So a bigger bankroll is always preferable.
Having a bigger poker bankroll also makes it much easier to handle the swings psychologically.
This is always a good thing especially for poker beginners who suffer from tilt issues.
See the chapter on tilt control later on in this free poker book by the way for more on that.
So the bottom line is that 30 buyins is my bare minimum recommendation for 2020 online poker bankroll management.
But more is always better.
I know this will still seem like a crazy amount to some people.
But trust me, after playing 10+ million hands sloth video online poker, I know how crazy the swings can get in this game.
I believe that your bankroll is the one thing you should never need to worry about at the poker tables.
Once again, this is just one free chapter best poker book for cash games my free poker guide.
If you would like to download the entire poker book for free right best poker book for cash games, Are Free Poker Books Worth It?
People often ask me if free poker books are really worth it.
For the most part, I would say no.
Other than my free poker book above, most free poker books available today are honestly total crap.
They are a handful of pages at best with the most basic poker strategy possible.
But you can't really blame the authors.
I have written 3 full length poker books myself and each one was an exhausting process that took 6 months to a year.
As you can imagine, nobody is going to spend 6 months to a year of their life writing a poker book and then give it away for free!
This is not even to mention the value of the high level poker knowledge best poker book for cash games in a good poker book.
So if you want the best advanced poker strategy for today's poker games, written by the very best players, then I am sorry to tell you, but it probably won't be free.
What Are the Best Poker Books for Beginners?
How about the best poker books for a beginner though?
Well, there are a few that stand out.
However, once again, I believe that my own book, Crushing the Microstakes stands clearly above the rest.
And that is because this is the only beginner level poker book ever written specifically for the very lowest stakes games, whether you play online or live.
And since I have some of the best results in the low stakes poker games in online poker history, you know that you are learning the very best strategies possible.
Indeed, it has been reviewed by nearly every single poker publication in the world now, both big and small.
For example, here is the for Crushing the Microstakes.

Download each one and watch them on the go!
No other author makes the material come alive like this.
You learn the strategies that I created to post some of the highest winnings of all time and the lowest stakes, and then I show you exactly how to implement them at the poker tables.

You might best poker book for cash games a generic poker strategy book published in 2019 that will give you decent strategic recommendations to beat your home game or local casino small stakes game.
But do not despair!
With this guide I plan on introducing the six books best poker book for cash games I feel will show the best long term return on time invested for an aspiring poker player.
Thinking, Fast and Slow Without a doubt, this is the book I have recommended to the most people in my best poker book for cash games, by a very clear margin.
Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky are universally regarded as the fathers of modern behavioral economics β€” the study of human decision making.
Instead it looks at how people really behave, with a surprisingly large focus on how people approach gambles of different kinds and in different contexts.
If you want to understand why different kinds of people play poker like they do, this is the single best place to start.
Expert Heads Up No Limit Holdem Vol 1 There are a lot of terms in poker that are thrown around a lot, but that many players including some top pros have trouble articulating precisely.
For example β€” what exactly is a Nash Equilibrium and how does that apply to poker?
What exactly do we mean when we say Expected Value EV?
What is an equity distribution and would does it matter?
Tipton is a technician and something of a visionary with regards to the application of computer programming to the more easily solved poker games specifically shortstack Heads Up.
He is also one of very few poker strategy book authors who genuinely was a top online player.
This is an excellent book if you want to nail down the theoretical bedrock upon which all of modern poker strategy is built.
But if you can see past that, Taleb has an unbelievably sophisticated knowledge of risk taking and uncertainty in the real world which he begins to impart to the reader in this book.
Disdainful of economists, academics, journalists and talking heads Taleb uses examples from his professional life as a trader to highlight how the role of luck is massively overlooked in business, the financial markets and more generally in life.
He believes that time is the greatest test there is for any system and that survival should be the number one goal by a huge distance.
For that reason, your grandmother is very likely to be smarter than the latest hot property on Wall St.
It also has a section that was priceless for me β€” Part IV on Risk.
This section discusses at length the Kelly Criterion as it relates to bankroll management, providing a usable formula to help determine when to move up.
I remember quite vividly sitting down and crunching the numbers to figure out when I best poker book for cash games move up from 0.
Aimed at more serious players, Tendler uses his experience as a professional golfer and psychologist, plus his friendship with legendary American grinder leatherass to give the first proper analysis of the stresses and strains of playing poker professionally.
When I first read this book I remember being stunned at how accurately the author described the various states of mind you find yourself in while playing poker with a less than perfect mental game.
He then guides you through the series of practical steps you can take to manage your emotions while playing, with another section dedicated to off-table work aimed at reducing your propensity to feel and be influenced by strong emotions while playing.
Plus improvements you make in this area will inevitably rub off into other areas of your life in a positive way.
For me personally I noticed large benefits, particularly in relationships and in sports, once I started systematically working on my poker mental game.
He introduced practical ways of enumerating a range and ensuring it had reasonable proportions of value hands and bluffs on each street.
It was a real landmark in understanding for me, so naturally I preordered his book before it came out in 2013.
However, his methods of analysis have not stood the test of time.
This is clearly not true as sometimes more info can check and win.
But the truth in 2019 is your reading best poker book for cash games would be better spent on any other book in this list.
